If you like the idea of the ultimate "sleeper" amp, then you'll love the Aviator Gold 8. It easily keeps up with typical 40-60 watt 12" tube amps, and has enough power and responsiveness to leave you in sheer amazement. Boasting a sealed enclosure and a full range 8" pro audio driver borrowed from Celestion's high end pro audio catalog, the Aviator Gold 8 will blow you away with breathtaking tone and power that goes on surprising you day after day, gig after gig. But why stop there? It is designed to work with the Aviator Gold and MicroPro Mach 2 extension cabs, which leaves you with a powerful Micro Stack, capable of performing anywhere you need to go. The Quilter Labs Aviator Gold 8 is a small, powerful 2-channel combo amp with 100 watts of power per channel. The Guitar CH 1/2 comes loaded up with a simplistic, yet highly-shapable control panel, which includes a 3-band EQ, a post-EQ Hi-Cut control knob to roll off on the high frequencies, and Gain & Master Volume controls. Equipped with independent Volume and Tone controls, the Aux Channel (CH 1) can be used to plug in a line level device such as an mp3 player so that you can jam along with your favorite backing tracks. You can also plug other instruments or microphones into the Aux Channel. Both channels share a Reverb section that features Reverb and Dwell controls that allow you to dial in your amount of reverb and control the length of the reverb tail.
The Aviator Gold 8 Combo also sports an onboard effects loop for use with outboard effects and a Direct Output for live performance and recording applications.

Comments about Quilter Labs Aviator Gold 8 1X8" Guitar Combo Amplifier:
I got the Aviator 8" because I needed a light and loud two-channel amp with a good direct out. For me, it's perfect. It holds its own (with no extension cab) in a fairly loud five-piece. If I need more volume or coverage I can run into the PA. I play an Epiphone Casino and a strat. Both sound great; the high input impedance makes things very glassy. The tone knob is very useful for fitting into a mix; I tend to turn it clockwise to cut my low end and boost mids and highs. When I'm at home the scooped setting is great to play with.
I don't tend to use the flat setting, but in the world of PodHD, AxeFX, and Tech 21 "Character" pedals it sure seems like a smart option to include.
The gain channel has its own thing going on, though I find it plenty versatile and capable for my needs. If you want to play thrash or djent you'll need some help but for anything up to Richard Thompson-ish leads you should be fine. The hi-cut knob is capable of some really interesting things.
One thing I will say: While the clean channel sounds great at almost any volume, the gain channel needs to be moving some air to sound right. It certainly sounds good at a lower volume than most tube amps—low enough for daytime practice without offending any neighbours—but not "don't wake the baby" quiet. The dirty channel also sounds great run as a second clean, and yes it does do a fine "edge of breakup".
If you live in a rainy climate like me, the water resistant slipcover is a really nice extra. Plus is has a huge pocket for cables and other essentials.
If you don't have the money to be into NOS tubes or the patience to be into new ones, it's time to get over the conventional wisdom and play something that just works.
