Description

In the DR tradition of using old style construction to improve modern performance, Pure Blues™ electric guitar strings are designed with pure nickel wrap wire, round wound upon round cores. While this is a slow, expensive method of string making, it does produce a string acclaimed for increased sustain, vintage tone, and great low tones for playing rhythm to lead. The extra step of winding pure nickel around a round core gives the Pure Blues™ a punch that players say they are surprised to get in a vintage string. Sounds great on any vintage guitar!!

I love these strings...

Comments about Dr Strings Phr11 Pure Blues Heavy Electric Guitar Strings (11-50):

"These are my favorite strings ever. I like them on humbuckers or singles. Probably not the best for metal, but for the bluesy rock stuff I like, I think they're perfect. Articulate, but not shrill. I like the way they feel. They seem to be fairly easy on the frets. I usually leave them on way too long, but they seem to stand up to it--the tone fades but they rarely break. They don't last like Elixirs (but I don't like the feel or sound of Elixirs as much), but they hold up much better than Slinkies (which also don't sound or feel as good)."
