Description

The original ES semi-hollow body

The Epiphone Dot is Epiphone's version of the venerable ES-335 “Dot”, has been wowing guitar players all over the world for over four decades. Vintage models (with vintage problems) can’t complete with our Epiphone Dot, which is simply one of the best deals today for guitar players who want the classic sound of an ES-335 at an affordable price.

Epiphone is long famous for its own original semi-hollowbody models from the 1950s Kalamazoo, Michigan era, including the Riviera and the Sheraton. During the same time those guitars were designed and constructed in Kalamazoo, the ES 335, first introduced in 1958, became a favorite of blues, rock, country, and pop acts for its elegant design and wide array of colorful tone combinations. Now, the Epiphone Dot, named in reference to its simple "Dot" fingerboard inlays, brings the sustain and resonance of the clsssic semi-hollow design for a bounty less than most solid body guitars. The “Dot” is the same axe that has been the bell weather of every rock and roll breakthrough. And now for the first time, the “Dot” puts that classic sound and over 40 years of refinements in your hands, the Epiphone way.

Comments about Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar:

After a long hiatus, I got back into playing again, in 1996. I wanted to try something different, and the Dot was what I picked up. Strapping it on, it felt like a nice fit-comfortable, 'easy to get along with'. I played it a bit, and the neck and fingerboard felt very 'right'; so I bought it.
If I had any significant issues, I wouldn't have kept it. As it is, it consistently keeps in tune, as well as intonation. I initially had some problems with buzzing around the 11th thru 14th fret. This falls under the realm of expected adjustments. What I have is natural, pretty 'plain Jane', but it sounds like a million dollars. I have had it for about twenty years now, and the selector switch is starting to go-an easy fix. I also am toying with installing a varitone selector.
This guitar has always gone on gigs-no matter what else I brought.
These guitars are not toys, and I do not recommend putting it into the hands of an inexperienced child. If treated right, Epiphone guitars-and I have about twenty-will treat you right as well; and this axe is definitely no exception!

Comments about Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar:

When i picked up this guitar for the first time i wa skeptital, because i was originally there to buy an Es-339, but it thought why not give this one a try. Compared to the 339 this one has a deeper tone and is way better on rock and blues. Honestly the only thing i had to do to this guitar was lower the string hight (but thats my peersonal prefference) and a few very dry frets. But those are easy fixes.

Comments about Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar:

AMAZING. Though this is just an Epiphone, that's all you need. This sounds great, feels great, plays great, and is an awesome multipurpose guitar. It's a little heavy but that's no big deal at all. I love this guitar.

I like the feel of this guitar. I swapped out the Epiphone pickups for Gibson P-57's and I now get great sound/tone. It is a keeper

I just received the natural finish version of this guitar and love it! I have a friend who has the Gibson version and it's hard to tell the difference, except for the price which is about 1/10 of the Gibson.Highly recommend!

Comments about Epiphone Dot Electric Guitar:

Beware buying any guitar online. Play it in a store first, then order online if you must. I bought this guitar in cherry from a different online retailer and ended up with a serious lemon. Loose pots, horrible buzz, finish issues, etc. I can't believe it got past quality control in the US. Anyway, looking past those issues, this guitar is a great way to get into the semi-hollow guitar world. The sound (minus the buzz) was excellent and the finish (minus a few small blemishes) was very good. I can easily recommend this for a [$] starter guitar. Even as a second practice guitar for the pros, this would fit the bill.

I got this guitar as a 16th birthday gift and let me tell you it is unreal. The pick-ups give you a warm tone that is perfect for blues. This guitar can also do some heavy soloing. The guitar also sounds good unplugged. Also it is extremely light for its size. I use it through my Line 6 Spider 3 15 watt amp, and its sounds amazing. I use the product for shows as well as just sitting around at home playing. Perfect guitar for beginners or professionals.

You would think it would be heavy. But it is very light. I have two les pauls. A les paul custom And A Zakk Wylde Custom and this is added to my collection. This guitar is best in preformence. NOT BEGINNERS. Its hard for beginners. When you get this gutiar you need to be very very caefull with it.
