Description

Evans Hydraulics are famously easy to tune...making them a perfect fix for troublesome drums and younger players looking for instant sound

Hydraulics feature two plies that sandwich a thin layer of oil and give the fat, deep, and short sound pioneered by early 70's rock and roll. The oil decreases sustain and enhances attack and low-end. Additionally, Hydraulics are famously easy to tune...making them a perfect fix for troublesome drums and younger players looking for instant sound

Comments about Evans Hydraulic Blue Drumhead:

Great sounding heads. A few things I would note however, having used these heads live and in the studio:
Great heads for the studio. Sound big and deep.
They make the drums quieter than normal heads, which means if you have a standard Ambassador on the snare and these heads on the toms, you will hear a volume difference between the toms and snare (the toms being quieter than the snare).
Which then leads you to this: You will hit the toms harder to get the volume you had to get before (will not matter if you're mic'ed up).
If you hit them hard, and a certain velocity they will start to lose their nice tone and start to sound like "doink" (for lack of a better term).
