Comments about Fender 358 Classic Tortoise Shell 12 Pickpack:

I did not use the picks too much yet, so keep that in mind while reading. When I first started playing guitar, my dad had a bunch of old (from the 70's) tortoise shell picks that were just like these in shape and size. After I destroyed most of them from playing a lot of punk music, we tried looking for more, and we couldn't find any. Jump ahead about 5 years to when I found these now. They are as close as you can get to the old tear drop tortoise shell picks. They sound wonderful. We bought the heavies and they are good for rhythm and lead. They aren't thick (not even 1mm), they just don't bend that much. In other words, there is very little give to the pick, which makes it nice for lead. The reason I have written above, nice for slow lead is because, personally, I tend to drop/lose grip of the pick if I play too fast because it is so small. After I destroyed most of the original picks, I moved to larger and thicker picks, making moving back to these a rather large adjustment, and I may not stick with them for the style of music I normally play. However, overall, these are great picks. My dad loves them, and I enjoy the play-ability for when I sit back and play a few Jazz tunes.
