Description

As the leader in cymbals, Zildjian is always looking for new and innovative ways to bring a better musical experience to the drumming community.

One area where all drummers commonly express dissatisfaction is the use of neoprene pads, mutes, and other dampening devices on cymbals to practice at a reasonable volume. This is true especially for drummers in densely populated cities.  How are you to actually know what you sound like when you can’t feel or hear it?  With drumming being a highly tactile instrument, Zildjian has come up with the solution - the Low Volume Family of cymbals.  This unique new playing experience delivers a quieter sound without losing the authentic feel of a Zildjian cymbal.

Through tireless research and development, a specialized pattern was achieved to deliver the best of both worlds: musical sound and lower volume. This innovative pattern is combined with a special proprietary alloy with a unique matte finish that enables our Low Volume cymbal to have fewer high frequencies and is up to 80% quieter than a traditional cymbal.

Using a sound level meter, Zildjian compared the decibel levels of a traditional cymbal versus our Low Volume Series, both played with consistent power.  The results showed that a Low Volume cymbal is up to 80% quieter than a traditional Zildjian cymbal.

Great for practicing outside a studio

By

from Edison, NJ

One of the biggest issues my friends have when they practice anywhere outside rehearsal studios is that their neighbors complain about the noise. With these new ZIldjian Low Volume cymbals they can now play quietly while still getting the full sound and tone that zildjian is known down. Very surprised by how much they actually quite them. Worth every penny

Great for practice!

This is a really nice low volume cymbal for practicing! It has a nice low ring even when you are rocking out at high velocity. If you are working on a project in your bedroom or an apartment with picky neighbors this is really what you need. It is 80% quieter than normal Zildjian cymbals and still gives you that true feel and work on your drum muscle memory with ease.

The Perfect Practice Cymbal!

By

from Huntington Station, NY

I've been absolutely drawn to this cymbal since it came out. Straight out of the box it looks amazing, and it adds a lot of intrigue from people passing by. This is probably the greatest practice tool a drummer could have in their arsenal. The cymbal speaks for itself, low volume all the time. You can wail on it for hours and it stays at the same muted volume. I would go as far as saying that they are viable in small venue show, accompanied by acoustic guitars. The ping is still there as well, making articulation more noticeable. Great for you, great for your neighbors, I would recommend the 20" and even a whole set of these cymbals.

Make practicing more inspiring

The low volume cymbals from Zildjian are wonderful for drummers of all skill levels looking for a better way to practice without the obtrusive volumes of conventional cymbals. Oftentimes practice pads/mutes and other solutions for low volume playing leave a lot to be desired for the sound and feel. In many instances these products make practicing gruesome instead of fun. These cymbals feel great under the hand and stay true to a normal cymbal while cutting the volume significantly, making it fun to practice. So if you live in an apartment or don't want to bother loved ones and neighbors these are perfect for you. These are truly a unique and welcome product to the drum market.

I LOVE THESE!!!

The low volume series are great. I love them and parents will love them as well because they are 80% quieter than other cymbals, yet they still tonally sound good, which makes drummers love them as well. This is the best of both worlds and is great for practice as well (adding to drum mutes especially for those complaining neighbors).

This ride cymbal is great for practicing--it's quiet so you don't disturb anyone but still has the authentic feel of striking a true ride. This is a better solution than using standard mutes! I am a verified Sam Ash reviewer.
