The Breedlove Oregon Series Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar was made for the guitar player who wants the depth and projection of a dreadnought combined with the fullness, clarity & unique visual beauty that comes from myrtle & sitka spruce.Handcrafted in Bend, Oregon, U.S.A. For the player who wants the stout projection of a Breedlove dreadnought with the unique look, midrange fullness, depth, clarity, and liveliness of locally sourced myrtle. The most accessible American-made platform for the Breedlove rounded dreadnought, it's voiced to project defined tone with volume and clarity and features a slightly rounded upper bout to provide a great sound chamber and to be less restrictive for the player.
Breedlove chose locally-sourced myrtle and Sitka Spruce to bring out the volume and upper midrange the rounded dreadnought is known for. Voiced for a defined tone, it features a slightly rounded upper mid, giving the guitar a great sound chamber and a comfortable contour for the player to hold and accurately amplified through its Fishman Ultra-Tone pickup.
Going beyond the traditional dreadnought sound, this design offers more nuance and richness than usual. Breedlove created a slightly more rounded shape than traditional dreadnoughts, giving you deep, clarified, and punchy tones, while also providing great projection and detail.
Slimmer Neck Profile
Smaller hands love the comfortable Breedlove neck, a bolt-on design with a single truss rod that facilitate easier adjustment for angle and action than traditional dovetail neck joints. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish process alone takes three days, including precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing, but resulting in a smoother, friendlier surface.
Sitka spruce, a primary top wood for American-made instruments, is strong and light with magical tone retention. It offers a strong, focused sound that's perfect for flatpicking styles. Sitka delivers warmer, more fundamental sound than European Spruce, without the overtones that compromises clarity. Sitka is also well-known and loved for its gradual development, maturing with your playing as it opens slowly over time.
Back and Side Woods
Myrtlewood, originating from Northern California and Oregon, offers a strong fundamental with a powerful voice. is similar to maple, with a clear and bright voice with natural sustain and projection as well as a balanced sound. Versatile, yet nontraditional, it works for many styles of playing.
LR Baggs EAS VTC pickup system
Unlike typical undersaddle acoustic guitar pickups that are dependent on string compression for their sound, the Element was engineered to mirror the soundboard's actual movement as you play. At the heart of the pickup, a flexible film sensor only 2 thousandths of an inch thick picks up the guitar's most delicate nuances. Tracking the motion of the top rather than a direct string attack suppresses "quack" caused by compression and unlocks the Element's unrivaled dynamic range. The pickup's minimalist construction lessens any influence on the acoustic properties and creates an intimate coupling between the pickup and guitar for the highest fidelity possible.
