Description

The Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60s delivers vintage Strat tone, feel, and style, without the vintage guitar price tag.

The Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60s stays true to most of the original specs that put the Strat on the map in 1954. The Classic Vibe Stratocaster sports an alder body with the legendary "comfort contour" design that was way ahead of its time. The body is outfitted with a trio of single-coil pickups powered by Alnico V magnets that deliver those clear, bell-like, bright Strat tones that were the driving force behind an endless list of guitar legends. Aged plastic knobs give the Classic Vibe Stratocaster a more vintage look.

The Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster boasts a period-correct early '60s style vintaged-tinted maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. This version of the Stratocaster also is also equipped with the modern features that today’s players demand. The neck boasts a flatter radius of 9.5" with medium-jumbo frets which makes for effortless, clean string bending. A vintage-style synchronized tremolo completes the package. The Classic Vibe Stratocaster delivers great sound and vintage looks at an unbeatable value! Case not included.

Features:

  • Maple neck with Modern "C"-shaped profile and 21-fret rosewood fingerboard
  • Three custom vintage-style single-coil Stratocaster pickups
  • Five-way pickup switch
  • Vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge
  • Case not included

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60S Electric Guitar (3-Tone:

The pickups are noisy in positions 1,3, and 5, but I put in EMG-SA Active pickups. I did grade down for the pickups, but any working musician who'll take a guitar in this price range to a gig should have the good sense to address this issue somehow. All in all, it's a lot of guitar for the money. They play great, look great, and with the EMG's, they sound great! I liked the Squier so much, I bought another one and put EMG's in it too. I'm replacing my Highway 1 Strat with these two. So, for less than a grand, I have 2 of these, both loaded with EMG-SA Active pickups (my old set and a new set). These two guitars alone cost the same as a new Highway 1 Strat. This is a great guitar for in this price range. Just put in the pickups of your choice and it should provide excellent service for a long time.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60S Electric Guitar (3-Tone:

This guitar is an incredible deal for the money! Plays great, sounds great, looks great. A minimum of setup took less than 15 minutes and it was good to go. The pickups are a bit noisy in the 1,3, and 5 positions, but a shielding kit for less than [$] should fix that. I didn't downgrade my rating over this because I have EMG-SA active pickups to put in it from my old Strat (also bought from Sam Ash, but after 7 years and probably a thousand gigs plus rehearsals is due for replacement and a much-deserved retirement). Would I buy another one? Absolutely!!!

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60S Electric Guitar (3-Tone:

Have been playing for 20+ years. I'm always in music stores checking out the low-end and high-end models and while, in general Squire is still no counterpart to Epiphone in terms of producing stage worthy budget instruments (generally they are built from poor quality materials) the Classic Vibe series has proven they can produce a excellent quality guitar for a reasonable price. Between the 50's and 60's CV models, I found the 60's model irresistible... I was begrudgingly eyeing the (Mexican made) Fender branded 60's Stratocaster and wondering why Fender has to charge $800 when they are building these outside the US... The Squire 60's CV turned out to be the best choose for me, with it's 2-piece Alder body, 9.5 radius, large C-Shape neck and Alnico V pickups with custom staggered poles, this guitar sounds fantastic. The 3-tone sunburst, tortious pickgaurd and vintage-style tuners and bridge make it look as beautiful as it plays. No buzz whatsoever on this fretboard out of the box, action felt perfect out of the box too.... Only compliant is the pickups DO hum a bit more than the modern American and Mexican counterparts, but if you've ever had the honor of playing on a real 60's vintage Stratocaster you'll find the hum a lot more than the modern issues, so in a way I find this something easy to deal with. Pickups are Smooth with bite, it sounds great!

This guitar flat out is amazng!!!! I will never even consider a Mexican one again. If this had a Fender logo on the headstock it would sell all day for $899. Drop the Mexican ones all together and just make ths series.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster '60S Electric Guitar (3-Tone:

I use this guitar as a back-up guitar to my Fender Highway 1; however, I am playing it more and more each day. I love the tone of this guitar but the hum in 1,3, and 5 is louder than my other guitar. You may want to consider a noise supressor when using this guitar for anything other than practice. I love the Vintage Tunners and never thought that they would stay in tune, but I go days without have to re-tune it. Tremelo block could be more beefy but it still has good sustain. I do believe that a beefier block would greatly enhance this guitar. I love the Rosewood neck. However, I do not care for the tinted neck, but I can live with it. This is the best bang for the buck for the guitarist on a budget.
