Stay away from this if you have windows 10

I spent a lot of money on this, and the quality has always been poor. Volume levels are very low even if you talk into the microphone at very close range. The only fix is to digitally up the volume with all the hiss and hum that this brings with it. It turns out it's a windows driver issue, and audio-technica have completely failed to provide a replacement driver. Quite frankly, I feel as though I've had my money stolen from me.

If you can only have one mic...

The AT2035 has a VERY flat response curve making it an excellent mic for practically all recording needs - no "voodoo" as alluded to by some condenser mics, and subsequently no natty eq-ing in post! It also happens to have the largest condenser in AT's entire range of condenser mics and is quite sensitive - yet provides excellent off axis noise rejection. Build quality is excellent, being produced in Taiwan - a very pro piece of kit. I have been recording for 40 years and used 100s of microphones in a variety of settings, but if I had to choose one mic for everything the 2035 would be my choice. The AT2035 is well worth every penny, and Sam Ash not only has the best price, but they back their gear up with fast shipping and incredible service - thanks once again S.A., you guys rock!

Stay away if you are using windows 10

Was a great mic when I first bought it and used it with windows 8. After uppgrading to windows 10 the sound quality is really bad. It still "works" but the recorded volume is extremely low. If you raise the volume, the noise will get so high that the recording is trash. Many people have complained about this, but no action is made by Audio Technica or Microsoft.

I am impressed

First off, I am not a professional in this field. In fact this is the most expensive microphone that I have ever used. However that means I went into this blind and I have a pretty different perspective in this field. This prouduct was very easy to use. I just plugged it in and it worked. I use the microphone for some YouTube videos and it was very simple to use in every program. Just to test, I I tried it out in the windows camera app as well as some apps like skype and google hangouts. In those programs you're not really going to want to buy a mic this expensive and you may want to go for something cheaper. In the end this is an easy and good sounding mic that is a great choice if your just starting out.

Well, let me start by sharing... I owned a Music Store in the late 70s early 80s- We sold Audio Technica products even back then... I'm a Professional Musician, Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist... One has to step back from the instantaneous, social media- bash, dash, "hecto-confusing", gratification/confusion World we now live in... By stepping back... remember what you paid for this mic... It's well worth the admission , the set up ( plug and play), and the ever hanging ways to records music and voice. This , considering it's price, really checks all of the boxes... Enjoy your time, enjoy your music and enjoy LIFE :-) Thx AT- good Mic at this price point!!!

Best Mic for USB radio production on the road!

5

This is a great product. I have a daily radio program and this mic is my favorite usb mic. I was using various Blue usb mics and had loads of white noise. None with the AT2020. No need for bulky secondary mixing gear. I replaced the small travel stand with a drum kick mic stand, which works great. I bought an after market foam pop filter. My sound quality rivals what I get on the radio studio pro E.V. voice mics. I also have the xlr version which had to have a mixer. When I travel I use the small stand or take my desk mic stand in two pieces. I do the initial edits in sound studio, an elegant little program that does effective linear editing, then I drop my edits into Logic X. I can get an amazing warm sound with no ad ons! There is no latency in the earphone jack as well.
