Though it has some pre-World War II roots, the Ibanez line of guitars as we know it today first surfaced in 1957 when Hoshino Gakki began to market it as a separate brand. Originally a Spanish product, Ibanez guitars became a major player in the guitar industry after being acquired by a Japanese company that was willing to dedicate significant time and money in creating innovative designs and features, including the first major acceptance of seven- and eight-string guitars. Though they struggled with early designs, the brand took off with the release of guitars like the Iceman. From there, wild designs, affordable costs, and endorsements from big names helped Ibanez compete with major players like Gibson and Fender. The list of modern musicians that have used Ibanez guitars is quite extensive, ranging from metal stars like Korn’s Reginald Arvizu or Megadeth’s Marty Friedman to punk rock heroes like Dexter Holland of the Offspring. They’ve also released a growing collection of signature edition guitars based on some of their biggest endorsers. You’re also likely to find just about any kind of guitar you’re looking for. Ibanez prides itself on satisfying the needs of every guitar player. From electric axes, like their iconic RG series, to acoustic guitars, Ibanez is known for their wide-ranging catalogue. They even carry less traditional instruments like banjos and ukuleles! Not looking for a guitar? Ibanez also offers plenty of accessories. Try out one of their guitar or bass amps or one of their signature effects pedals to fill the venue with your own unique, high quality sound. Whether you’re looking for your first guitar or you just want to add to your arsenal, Ibanez is sure to have something that fits your style, both in design and sound.
