The new Epiphone Inspired by "1966" Century hollowbody thinline archtop revives the mid 60s design prized by collectors for their comfortable, lightweight body with neck joint at the 14th fret and warm, woody tone. The Laminated Maple body features a Maple top and both the top and back have Ivory colored single layer binding. The Mahogany neck has a Rounded "C" shape and a 25.5" scale with a simple but elegant Rosewood fingerboard with Pearloid "Dot" inlays, 20 medium frets, and an original nylon nut.

The Epiphone Inspired by "1966" Century is powered by the new single coil P-90 PRO pickup, recognized around the world as the most versatile and expressive single coil pickup available. Just like originals P-90s, the Epiphone P-90 PRO is an extremely sensitive pickup that easily bends to a player's unique touch. With its distinctive growl and wide tonal range, it's great for rock and roll, pop, jazz, country, or anything you want to throw at it. Controls are simple Master and Tone knobs.

Hardware includes legendary Wilkinson Vintage 3-in-a-row machine heads with plastic Ivory buttons with a 14:1 tuning ratio. The dual action truss rod has 60s era black "Bullet" cover with a Vintage "E" in white. The floating adjustable Rosewood bridge is supported by a traditional "Trapeze" style tailpiece. Case not included.

Eye catcher, with amazing sound

This guitar sounds amazing out of the box. It punches so good. Even unplugged it sounds almost as loud as my acoustic guitar. The style is so amazing and catches people's eyes. That P90 is HOT!!

I highly recommend this guitar!

Bought myself a Christmas gift and I am very happy with this great Epiphone 1966. Looks great, plays great right out of the box. Picture does not do it justice; it's a beautiful guitar. Thank you Sam Ash!

Great guitar for the money! Very Pleased!

I purchased this guitar in the sunburst color which Sam Ash was selling at a lower price than the Cherry. The sunburst color looked much nicer in person than I expected and I am very pleased with the appearance with no noticeable blemishes. The tuners work well and hold tune fine. The pickup and electronics also sound good. The two things that I did find that needed some attention were the plastic nut (bad -I replaced it with a bone nut) and some sharp fret ends which I filed and polished. Over all this a great guitar for the money, it plays very well and I am very happy with it! I would definitely buy this guitar again!

A very good Reissue

Most reissues are too different in materials and build to resemble their predecessors, but this is an inexpensive design that has been affectionately and sensitively reproduced. The P90 is very warm and balanced, with sweet harmonics abounding. It is easy to spot the Chinese hardware, but the workmanship and fit and finish are very good. The simple controls are sufficient. This is a classic reproduction of a classic guitar. Mine needs a fret level and could probably use some work on the nut.
