Description

With it's gently worn, ultra-smooth satin finish, Epiphone's Worn G-400 gives you the look and feel of a prized vintage instrument without the vintage price tag or worry.

As with Epiphone's regular G-400, this "worn" SG features a  traditional solid Mahogany body with a hand-fitted, glued-in Mahogany neck and a 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. The neck profile is Epiphone most popular "Slimtaper" shape dating back to the 1960's and when combined it's smooth, satin finish, it feels as comfortable as it is to play.

At the heart of this SG's classic rock tone is a pair of high-output Alnico Classic (neck) and Alnico Classic Plus (bridge) Humbuckers, each with separate volume and tone controls that feature full-size 500K potentiometers matched with Epiphone’s rugged all-metal 3-way toggle pickup selector switch for long-life and rock-solid performance.  Add Epiphone's exclusive LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and Stop-bar tailpiece and you've got even more devilish sustain!  For ultimate tuning stability and accuracy the "Worn" G-400 features premium Grover 14:1 machine heads for dead-on tuning accuracy and stability. Once i Got it in One Piece--Great Guitar

4

Well, lets just say i went through alot of trouble for this little baby. I first ordered a G-400 Pro in Ebony, and it arrived with Broken pots on both volume/coil tap positions. Then i ordered this guitar, and when i went to take it out of the box, the headstock literally fell in my hand, completely severed from the neck. So i wondering if maybe owning an Epi SG wasn't meant to be, so i checked out some other guitars at the Sam Ash store, but none attracted me like an out of the box new SG. So i ordered it one last time, and it turns out the third time was the charm. However the guitar was not setup very well, it was completely out of tune and the action was waaaayyy too high, and there was some kind of sticky residue near the top of the neck. After fixing those issues, the guitar looked, played and sounded great....FINALLY.

A must buy

I must say, this is one fine guitar. I compared this Epi G 400 to a Gibson SG standard and other than the slight better pickup output from the Gibson, I liked this one better. The workmanship quality is just the same if not better. Whatever differences, seem intentional to make the Epi a bit different. The Epi is a hair thicker, but that's really it. The neck and action are great. I see no flaws in this guitar. If you want it to be a Gibson, put Gibson pickups in it and you have a Gibson for a lot less money. Buy it and have fun.

I just got this guitar a couple days ago and i absolutely fell in love!! This is a really nice starter guitar, as it was my first electric guitar. However, the finish on the neck tends to stick to your hands and slow your fingers down. A little elbow grease otta do the trick! Overall, great guitar!

This is a beautiful guitar. I got it from Sam Ash after losing my Epiphone SG Special, and this guitar is amazing. I play it with a Line 6 Spider III 15 and it sounds beautiful. Sounds great for classic rock, metal, anything. Sounds perfect when playing Stairway to Heaven I might add... All in all a good guitar, well made, no problems with it, not even a scratch on it.
