Description

The Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar delivers traditional Strat tone, feel, and style, without the vintage price tag.

The Fender Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar stays true to many of the original specs that put the Strat on the map in 1954. This Stratocaster features an alder body with the legendary 'comfort contour' design that was way ahead of its time. The body is outfitted with a trio of single-coil pickups that deliver those clear, bell-like, bright Strat tones that were the driving force behind an endless list of guitar legends. A parchment colored pickguard adds an old school vibe to this modern day classic.

This updated Standard Stratocaster is available with a gloss finish maple neck in either a 1-piece solid maple or with a rosewood fingerboard. Standard appointments include 21 medium jumbo frets on a slightly flatter 9.5" fingerboard radius. The flatter radius facilitates easier, cleaner string bending and faster action. A vintage-style synchronized tremolo with a high-mass bridge block for increased tone and sustain completes the package. See for yourself why the Stratocaster is the standard by which all other solidbody electrics are judged by. Case not included.

FENDER FOREVER!!!

This guitar is rock history in your hands. The build quality, materials and electronics are as good as it gets. We've all seen this guitar in the hands of history's most legendary players. Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, SRV, Page...all have played the Stratocaster, and for good reason. This guitar invented rock and roll!

This is a Mexican Strat and I love it

This is my first Fender guitar. Been a Gibson man my whole life and started with a Mexican strat. Plays amazing after a proper set up. Sounds awesome too! Id recommend this for sure. Sam Ash folks were also super helpful and courteous. Cheers all around.

This is an excellent guitar...

I played the sea foam green Squire Strat for two years and then got this one in black with white pick guard and blonde neck. OMG! I really didn't expect that much of a difference because I could make the Squire sound pretty good. BUT, the real Stratocaster is way better in a bunch of subtle ways like incredibly clear, long sustain on power cords. Plus, in the sweet spot on the neck, the notes just blast out. The smoothness of the neck and the glossy fingerboard makes your hand fly. Plus It seems like I don't have to use much muscle force to make this thing crank out lots of sound. I have been playing along with Cream at The Albert Hall and my tone exactly matches Clapton. I'm totally and completely happy with this guitar. It will live much much longer than me. The guy in Sam's called it a legacy guitar and now I am a believer. Excellent work Fender! I am proud to be seen with this thing on!

I will absolutely purchase another in the future.

For most of my life I have been a fan and serious player of Fender basses and guitars. I have played many American and Standard Strats over the years, and have always loved them. For me personally, they are exactly what I want in a guitar. I purchased a beautiful used Standard Strat in the translucent white blonde finish that I saw behind the Sam Ask counter in New Haven, CT and was immediately drawn to it simply by it's appearance. I compared it with some others and was amazed at how great it sounded and played, even though it needed new strings and a set up. Jim at Sam Ash set it up and put new strings on it and then it really came alive! Without question, I will purchase another Standard at some point down the road, it plays, sounds and looks fantastic, especially for what I paid for it. As always, great help and customer service from Jim the guitar tech and Big Jim in sales, thanks guys!

I would tell anyone...,..

I would tell anyone that only had a few hundred dollars to spend on a guitar, to get a MIM Stratocaster or Tele. IN my opinion they deliver more value for the money than just about any other guitar. Mine is a Made in Mexico Strat. (arctic white w/ a rosewood board). It's very well made, it's beautiful to look at, it has fantastic tone and playability. Not too many guitars in the 4 to 5 hundred dollar (or less) range can make that claim.

I'm very pleased with it

This guitar looks very good, and the build quality really seems first rate. The Mexico Fender facility is owned and operated by Fender, not a contract supplier. This gave me the confidence to buy the product. The light strings and 9.5" radius neck make it easy to play, and the sound seems very good to me. It's all standard Stratocaster, so all the common upgrades will fit. You can customize as much as you like.

Truly great guitar

Have owned other more expensive Strats over the years. Been exclusively a Tele player for many years. Got the hots for a Strat, went to Sam Ash and found a Standard in (dark) Midnight Wine. Beautiful guitar with great finish including satin finish on the back of the neck. Also played American Standard Strat but liked the Standard just as well. Why pay more than twice the amount. I own it and play it through a 1953 Fender Tweed Deluxe. heaven.
