Upon its release in 1958, the ES-335 changed the way players looked at the electric guitar. With a Thinline, semi-hollow body, and powerful pickups, the ES-335 added a new dimension to the guitar world. This gorgeous recreation features a 1962 Kalamazoo build, with historically accurate vintage specs, and Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers. This guitar is for the player that wants a brand new guitar that just time-traveled here from 1962.

1962 Kalamazoo Build
This instrument was made to look like an original 1962 ES-335, the day it left the Kalamazoo factory. The always-recognizable body shape of this ES-335 boasts a large lower bout and shallow double cutaway. It's built from 3-ply maple/poplar/maple, with dual F-holes carved on top. This guitar is draped in a beautiful Sixties Cherry gloss finish. Single-ply tan binding surrounds the smoothly contoured body. It's paired with a 24.75" quarter sawn mahogany neck for great sustain and lovely sound. Hot animal hide glue construction ensures perfect sonic transfer throughout the guitar.

Historically Accurate Vintage Specs
All aspects of this guitar were engineered to be period-correct, creating a true 1962 aesthetic. The neck of this guitar sports a vintage shape, with its rounded early '60s profile. It has a dark rosewood fretboard with aged celluloid small block inlays. The frets are medium jumbo - 18% nickel silver and the nut is made from nylon. The bridge on this guitar is an ABR-1 with plated brass saddles, working in tandem with an aluminum stopbar tailpiece. The headstock bears the Gibson name, surrounded by Kluson double ring tuners with tulip buttons, in true vintage-style.

Memphis Historic Spec Humbuckers
To amplify the natural, resonant tone emanating from the semi-hollow body, Gibson outfitted this ES-335 with dual MHS humbuckers, voiced for rhythm at the neck and lead at the bridge. The Memphis Historic Spec humbuckers are rigged with the Gibson MTC Historic. That circuit was hand-wired with matched 550k potentiometers and black beauty capacitors. It's got a volume and tone for each pickup, with a toggle switch to choose between each pickup individually, or both together. The tonal clarity and vintage voice of this guitar will continuously impress you.
