It doesn't interface well with AmpliTube on my iPhone. It works but the gain is really low and the input signal is noisy. Too much trouble to return it.
Got the Guitarbud then downloaded JamAmp from the iTunes App store. Imported songs from my iTunes library and immediately was able to jam along with the tunes. I even uploaded an original song my band is working on and practiced along with it! I haven't used the speed function yet but understand it allows you to slow down the song while keeping the pitch the same so you can learn licks. That will be useful! Practice along with your tunes while wearing headphones so i'm not worried about how I sound until I get it right is a big thing for me. Guitarbud workrs with other Apps as well. The effects are great and included Tuner worked really well - these are added bonuses. It would be worth it even without those features. Buy it and start jammin'!
This worked for one day. I was able to get one good acoustic song (4 tracks) and a decent electric guitar song (3 tracks). I thought I was on to something great, I felt like I had discovered plutoneum or pennicilin or something. But the cable turned out to be very poor quality. I bought apps to use this with, and now none of them recognize a guitar. Tried multiple guitars. Tried multiple apps. Tried multiple Iphones/Ipods. Spent hours troubleshooting, and it boils down to bad cable. I'd send it back but I don't want to pay shipping. I own a PRS Custom 22, always been a fan. I'm surprised PRS has put their good name to this product (made by PRS Cables). I guess times are changing. PRS makes import guitars now too. Import guitars, import cables. Slapping their name and reputation on anything to make money. Sell outs. I figured this would be a quick way to throw down ideas at home or on the road. Not so. Don't buy. This is a great concept but fell short on quality. I'll have to stick to my expensive recording equipment...which isn't portable. Maybe one day someone will master this technology. Not PRS Cables.
Neat idea, but not good enough for most players; noisy with unpleasant feedback.
this device had so much potential. but the makers took too many shortcuts in order to get to the market first with this concept. the one good thing i can say about it is, its small and fits into your pocket or your gig bag easily. as for the bad things... where do i begin? low quality component parts, unshielded wiring make this cable noisy and unpredictable. its really expensive for what you're actually getting, it creates digital distortion if you turn your guitar up past 3or4 on the dial, and even when i plugged a prs guitar into it and played the PRS JamAmp app through it, the latency was so bad, i felt like i was playing through a 1980's satellite connection. in general, this idea is great, but the execution was miserable. i can't wait until a good manufacturer does this type of product the right way. once they do, iphone app developers will have a field day coming up with new ways for you to play your guitar through your mobile device. i can't wait for a product that answers the deficiencies of this piece of kit.
Works with every guitar app / recording app I have. Got to play with guitar volume control some time to make it work. I can play as loud as I want any where in my headphones! Can send recording of riffs via email with voice memo app.
