Description

A revamped version of the classic SG, the Modern seamlessly combines definitive SG elements with new innovations to create a modern electric monster. This guitar features a maple on mahogany SG body, highly playable specs, and dual Burstbuckers with coil-tapping capability. The SG Modern is made for the player who loves the SG, but wants to take advantage of all the progressive designs that have come forth since its inception.

Maple on Mahogany SG Body
More reminiscent of a Les Paul model, this SG modern has a mahogany body with AA maple top, showcasing a beautiful wood grain and giving it excellent sonic qualities. Even more resonance and sustain is afforded by the mahogany neck, set into the body.

Highly Playable Specs
This SG has some very cool specs that make it as playable as ever. It boasts a 24-fret compound radius, genuine ebony fingerboard on top of an asymmetrical slim taper neck. The combination provides excellent playability, no matter your style. The mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays add that classic Gibson flare. The bridge is a Nashville Tune-O-Matic with a stopbar tailpiece. Coupled with Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners with keystone buttons, this guitar will stay tightly in tune when you're rockin' hard.

Dual Burstbuckers with Coil-Tapping Capability
For excellent sonic versatility, this SG Modern takes the classic Gibson dual humbucker design and levels it up. There's a Burstbucker Pro Rhythm pickup at the neck with a Burstbucker Pro +Lead at the bridge. Both are calibrated Alnico V's for some excellent tonal power. Even more impressive, the two volume knobs are push/pull and engage a coil-tapping feature, giving the blazing hot humbuckers a sweet P-90 style single-coil sound.
