I would buy this product again

I bought this keyboard to teach online violin and vocal lessons. For my purposes, it works really well! I was pleasantly surprised that you can hook in a microphone. There are many features, including a USB plug, that make this keyboard versatile. I originally wanted to get the Yamaha bundle, but there was no more in stock, so the SAM ASH associate suggested I get this keyboard. I do like that the keys are weighted also! It is comparable to the Yamaha I wanted. Now for the "I don't likes"... I do not like that there is no keyboard cover that could slide out to cover the keys. I do not like the music stand it comes with as it is just really strong wires instead of the wood that a Yamaha or Roland would have. I do not like that it does not come with a bench. It isn't a "bundle" so I guess I understand this part. Which brings me to - I do not like that it does not come with a keyboard stand - again, it isn't a bundle. So, after buying the keyboard (500) and buying the keyboard stand (100) and bench (100) separately, I ended up spending roughly 750.00 for everything. Would i buy this keyboard again? yes i would

I would buy again (if I didn't already have one)

Came just as expected. Sound is good and weighted keys are a plus. As a piano hobbyist, this piano works perfectly well and I haven't even had a chance to explore all the functionality yet.

Pretty good piano. I like it more than a similar Casio

For the price you really can't go wrong. keys are decently weighted. Touch sensitive volume control. I really like the programmed sounds and it even tells you the notation for chords you are playing. It really helps you with compositions. I don't really have any negatives. I have not connected it to an interface or PA so I can't speak on it's live performance capabilities. I opted to go down in price from a yamaha because the difference in the keys was not enough for me to justify the price difference, though there was some difference. I would say it feels better than the Casio's or Benjamin Adams of the same price.

This piano rocks!

I bought this product for my son to learn how to play piano. It's a fantastic instrument with multiple methods of helpful instruction tied into its software. It also features multiple instruments other than a piano to use to compose your own symphony.

Perfect upgrade for me. Dont hesitate to buy

I upgraded to this Medeli sp4200 from my Yamaha e363 and loved the chamge. The keys have a better feel ,the note sounds are much better, cleaner and more true to piano sound. It will never sound like a real Stienway, but the price between the 2 is huge. This will take a beginner like me, plinking keys at home, to a performance stage or even a recording studio with professional sounds. If you are thinking about a first time buyer or a replacement , dont hesitate purchasing this keyboard for under $500. Its good quality with quality sounds even compared to keyboards up to twice this one costs.

Good stage piano for the money.

With 600 voices and many, many sound efx this is a great buy for the money. However - if you're looking to capture and exact sound, there is very little wiggle room. The voices cannot be altered. What you hear is what you get. Other negatives include short pedal sustain time and difficulty finding and getting to voices on the fly. The latter can be somewhat remedied by setting up parameters and stored in banks and memory numbers (8 banks - 6 memory buttons for a total of 48 user defined presets). It does give you some options like being able to set varying volume levels and attack preferences that you can save into presets. The ability to split (anywhere on the keyboard) and layer sounds work flawlessly. The SP4200 also offers seamless voice changes (a very nice option for playing live). I only wish it had a section on the controls to allow tweaking the voices - but then again - that would most likely rocket the keyboard into a much higher price range.

Greatly enjoyable

Really like the sound and feel of this keyboard. More capable than I knew at time of purchase. Far more drums and instruments than the first look and play that caught my attention. Hadn't heard of Medelli before. Only draw back is having to scroll to sounds / drums rather than enter a patch number to get to an alternate sound or style in live performance. Glad I purchased board, quickly become a favorite.
