If you want to capture a classic look, you need the gear to match the genre. Nothing completes the style quite like the 55SH Series II, a microphone that has been gripped by legends for decades. Others may imitate, but none can duplicate the form and function standards Shure has held from their first Unidyne mic to their latest. Built on the hardware of their seminal Unidyne 55 microphone, the look of the 55SH Series II transports you to a classic era. Whether you recreate the broadcasting golden age or sing with the hip-swinging swagger of the birth of rock n' roll, this is the mic that makes the scene.

A Standout on Any Stage
The cardioid directional pattern captures the exact sound you want, regardless of acoustic environment. So, it's perfect for live performance in a variety of venues.

Made to Move
The shock-mounted dynamic cartridge minimizes stand noise. So, swing while you sing. It can handle the motion.

Stage Proof
Microphones get dropped, tossed, and knocked around. That's why Shure built the 55SH Series II with a rugged, die-cast casing, so it keeps coming back for the next show.

  • Uniform cardioid pick-up pattern for maximum gain before feedback and excellent rejection of off-axis sound
  • Tailored frequency response specifically shaped for speech, vocals and instrumental music
  • Chrome die-cast metal construction and mechanical design resists wear and abuse
  • Classic appearance, modern performance
  • Shock mounted cartridge minimizes stand transmitted noise, ensures quiet operation
  • Self-tensioning swivel mount permits tilting through 45 degrees forward and 80 degrees backward
  • On/Off switch
  • Shure quality, ruggedness and reliability
  • Includes thread adapter

Good for specific applications only

A good mic for certain applications but not for live rock music. Too quiet and feeds back easily.

Nice Nostalgic Mic.

This is a great little mic. Looks great in my oldies show.

Great Mic for the money

I've used the new Mic for two gigs since buying it. The sound is very good, as I expected. Only unexpected issue is that it partially blocks my view of my tablet containing the lyrics & chords for my songs. I am sure I'll figure it out.

This mic looks and sounds amazing!!! M guitarist has been singing into tis mic for 5 years and he says he won't ever sing through anything else. I concur! Tough as nails, the tone is clear and crisp. I recommend this to any serious vocalist. This is a real hands on review by Sammy @ Sam Ash Sarasota

Solid built Mic but lacking in gain

This is a solid, great looking retro styled microphone that really gives off that classic rock'n'roll feel, and it is very well built. However, my experience using it for lead vocals in a loud rock band demonstrated that you cannot get nearly as much gain out of it than say a Shure 58a or similar microphone type. If maximum output is not a priority though this is a very cool looking mic and able to take a lot of abuse without taking on wear and tear or loss of performance.
