There's not much to say about the SM-58 that hasn't been echoed many, many times. It is the proven go-to mic for live vocal work for good reason - IT ALWAYS WORKS, PERFECTLY, WITHOUT COLOR, AND CONSISTENTLY! Vocal mics 10 times the price sound no better live, and typically are not built to take the abuse the venerable SM-58 can. Why a vocalist would want anything else for live work is impossible to figure out.
Love the sound quality on these mics!
Fantastic mike. A must have for any serious musician. And the service at Sam Ash is just awesome. A pleasure to shop there.

Seriously, I've had one of these for 18 + years and it still sounds just as good as when I got it. If a venue doesn't have a handful of these in their arsenal they aren't doing it right.
I will use this product in my home studio, and playing out live.

You've seen this microphone at just about every live performance you have been to and its become a legend in the industry for decades. Shure has now met the demand of users for a switch, to turn the mic on/off without removing the cable or muting at the board. If you need a live mic and prefer a swtich take this over the regular version or if you need to pick up another one having a switch isn't a bad idea! SM58 the work-horse you've come to know just updated!

I've tried some pretty prestigious brands including AudioTechinica and Behr. My 58 is #1 for live and studio vocal. I don't record with it, for that, I like a big condenser mic, but these are the best for PA use. They don't feed back easily, they have nice sound shaping for vocals and they can be used close up or a few inches away. They're about perfect...and a real bargain. There are so many pricey mics out there. These are the ones you'll find at every club and on every band's mic stands.
The Shure SM 58 is hands down the best microphone for lower tone vocals, (Extreme Metal or Baritone voices) It is extremely durable and a great choice for any musician. It also works great for any live speaking, (comedians, schools, events) This is a hands on review from Dylan @ Sam Ash Sarasota
Shure's SM58 is the most popular handheld vocal microphone and for good reason. They continue to deliver the sonic quality that musicians have become familiar with while delivering the durability needed to be used in club and bar gigs night after night. I won't go to a gig without an SM58.
